Types of Braces
The best products for the best results
One type of braces fits all? Not quite.
There are a couple of options when it comes to braces, and Dr. Albert can advise you on what works best for the treatment you need.
Metal Braces
Metal braces are the most common type of braces we use in our practice, and they are made of high-grade stainless steel. Advancements in technology have produced metal braces that are smaller, more comfortable, and more attractive. At The Brace Place, we are proud to exclusively use The Victory Series by 3M. The Victory Series is an orthodontic appliance system that is composed of brackets, buccal tubes, bands and a bonding base – in short, all of the basic components of braces. What makes The Victory Series popular with our patients is that the brackets and tubes come with a pre-applied, light-sensitive adhesive that enables patients to have controlled, efficient bonding with less waste, trouble, and time. The brackets are also color-coded to help our orthodontists quickly and effectively treat each tooth individually. In addition, because the bonding pads curve to match the shape of the tooth, they can provide more exact, efficient results. The brackets are available in miniature, “low profile”, “vertical slot” or gold plating to meet each patient’s specific needs.
Ceramic Braces
Ceramic braces are made of translucent (clear) material. They are the most popular with our adult patients due to their cosmetic appeal, but many of our younger patients love their almost-invisible appearance. At The Brace Place, we are pleased to offer Clarity™ Advanced ceramic braces by 3M. These virtually unnoticeable braces feature a comfortable and strong design with a transparent color that will not stain. While these ceramic braces are made to blend in with the natural color of your teeth, you can still have the option of choosing brightly colored bands to fit your mood or a special occasion.
