What parents should look for

Teeth that work together make it possible to bite and chew properly, and contribute to clear speech. Teeth that function well will tend to have a pleasing appearance. The beautiful smile that results from orthodontic treatment is the outward sign of good oral health, and sets the stage for overall well-being. Learn more here about baby teeth and permanent teeth.

To Our Brace Place Family

Statement regarding the current COVID-19 pandemic.

Our offices are closed until May 8, 2020

On Friday, March 20, Governor DeSantis issued a mandate for all Florida Dental offices to immediately cease elective dental procedures (such as orthodontics) until May 8th, 2020 to help limit the non-emergency use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

A portion of our masks, gloves and other protective equipment that are in short supply will be donated to NCH to assist in treating the COVID-19 pandemic locally.

We will be calling all affected patients with appointments scheduled during this restricted time period. Because this executive order prevents us from seeing patients for regular orthodontic adjustments and treatments, Dr. Albert and our team will be available for orthodontic emergencies ONLY. This would include fixing issues causing a patient pain or discomfort.

Dr. Albert would like to reassure all of our patients that this period of restricted treatment should NOT affect their orthodontic result. If you have any questions or concerns, we would be happy to speak with you over the phone.
During this time of government restriction, it’s IMPORTANT that our patients take excellent care of their teeth and appliances. WE HIGHLY SUGGEST THE FOLLOWING:

1. Brush, floss, and clean your teeth and braces thoroughly.
2. Be exceedingly careful with food choices as to not break or loosen your braces. Avoid hard, sticky, or chewy foods or objects.
3. Wear your retainers, aligners, and rubber bands as instructed. If you run out of new aligners, continue wearing your last aligner as a retainer and keep it clean.

Our team at The Brace Place is here for you as much as we are legally permitted to be during these challenging times. We look forward to seeing you again just as soon as this mandate is lifted.

Please take great care of your braces and aligners and be safe out there!
